Program Prerequisite: Not required for Chemistry major.
Minor: Not required for Options I and II.
Grade Requirements: Average GPA of 2.00 or better in Chemistry courses.
Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours are required for graduation; 75 of these are required within Option 1, 71 are required within Option 2. A total of 40 upper division credit hours (in courses numbered 3000 and above) are required for all Chemistry majors to fulfill University graduation requirements; 37 of these are earned from required courses within Option 1 and 33 from required courses within Option 2.

Additional courses should be chosen to support career plans.

Suggested Course Sequence
The following suggested course sequence is provided to assist students in planning their schedules. Use this only as a guideline and be sure to consult with the Chemistry Department Chair. CHEM 1200 is strongly advised before enrolling in CHEM 1210 for students who have not completed a full year of high school chemistry. CHEM 1200 may be taken as an early college or summer course. Please note that MATH QL1080 or equivalent performance on a standard placement test is required for enrollment in MATH 1210.
