MICR 3305 - Medical Microbiology Credits: (5) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Characteristics of clinically relevant pathogenic bacteria, fungi, and other microbes. From the point of view of the microbe, topics will include pathogenesis, virulence factors and toxins, mechanisms of immune evasion, and unique biological features. From the point of view of the human host, we will discuss epidemiology, disease symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and control. This course consists of 3 one-hour lectures and 2 two-hour laboratory per week. Pre-requisite(s): MICR 2054 . Suggested Requisite(s): Pre-requisite of MICR 3254 or MICR 3203 is strongly recommended.
