MICR 4154 - Microbial Genetics Credits: (4) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem The genetics of microorganisms and its applications, including isolation and characterization of mutants, the biology and uses of plasmids, conjugation, transformation, the biology and uses of bacteriophages, transposition, recombinant DNA technology, gene regulation, and bioinformatics. This course consists of 3 one-hour lectures and 1 three-hour laboratory per week. Pre-requisite(s): MICR 2054 and CHEM 2310 /CHEM 2315 (lecture & lab). Suggested Requisite(s): Completion or concurrent of CHEM 3070 /CHEM 3075 (lecture & lab) is recommended.
