EDUC 3565 - Elementary English Language Arts: Evaluation, Remediation and Supports Credits: (2) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem This course is designed to teach teacher candidates validated evaluation and remediation strategies for K-5 students struggling in English Language Arts, focusing on techniques in elementary reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language. Candidates will be introduced to the process of identifying reading and writing difficulties, selecting evidence-based interventions, implementing instruction, and using the data-based instructional decision model to monitor students’ ELA progress and intervention effectiveness. Pre-requisite(s): Completion of Education Level 1 courses with a grade of B- or better. Co-Requisite(s): This course is part of Special Education Block 2 courses and should be taken with EDUC 3545 , EDUC 3575 , EDUC 4515 , EDUC 4521 , EDUC 4530 .
