Credits:(1) Typically Taught Spring Semester:Full Sem This laboratory skill course provides opportunities for the nurse practitioner (NP) students to learn and practice a variety of essential ambulatory care skills for patients across the lifespan. There is a focus on women’s health and pediatric health care conditions. Students attend skill lab weekly for instruction from interprofessional peers and nurse practitioner faculty. NP students acquire knowledge of skill performance, diagnostic and objective information for conditions requiring procedures, management strategies, patient education, and ICD-10 & CPT billing and coding instruction for common health care issues. Pre-requisite(s): NRSG 6220 - NP Assessment/DX Reasoning and NRSG 6225 - NP Care Clinical Skills. Co-Requisite(s): NRSG 6245 - NP Patient Care III, NRSG 6246 - Advanced Practice Primary Care Clinical III.
