HIST 4250 - Nineteenth-Century Europe Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem, odd years Description: A survey of European history from the fall of Napoleon to the beginning of the First World War. The course will focus on the lingering impact of the political and economic revolutions of the late eighteenth century on the politics, culture, and social development of the nineteenth. Major consideration will be given to liberalism, romanticism, socialism, nationalism, imperialism, industrialization, science, and the rise of mass society.
