SOC 3250 - Deviance and Social Control Credits: (3) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem even years Description: Introduces the student to the various sociological concepts of deviance and social control. Deviance and social control are examined in their positive and negative forms. The benefits and contributions as well as the consequences and disruptions of these forms are considered in the context of the formal and informal socialization processes and the internalization of social norms. Pre-requisite(s): SOC 1010 or SOC 1020 .
