PSY 4100 - Psychology in the Media Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: This capstone course will highlight how psychological concepts, principles, and theories are depicted in the popular media (e.g., film, documentary). Students will watch psychologically-relevant media, read classic and contemporary research connected to the concepts depicted in the media, and synthesize what they have learned from these sources in oral and written formats. Students will understand how the discipline of psychology provides a framework for understanding the world as depicted in media. 24 credits of Psychology coursework and instructor approval required. Pre-requisite(s): 24 credits of Psychology coursework and instructor approval.
