NRSG 7902 - FNP Clinical I Credits: (4) Typically Taught Summer Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: This course is designed to prepare the nurse practitioner student to deliver high quality primary care to patients of all ages, under the direction of a clinical preceptor. Students will enter the clinical setting and apply evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning principles to both diagnosing and treatment of patients across the lifespan. This course will also improve the student’s ability to collect patient histories, perform physical examination, order and analyze diagnostic tests, determine differential diagnoses, plan intervention, prescribe medication, and document patient encounters. Emphasis is place on the student leaning to apply health promotion principals in order to prevent disease and mange individualized patient healthcare outcomes.
