Course Fee Purpose: Consumable laboratory supplies including, but not limited to, culture tubes, Petri plates, broth and agar media, gloves, pipets, staining reagents, microscope slides and coverslips, disinfectant, swabs, and chemicals and reagents used in media preparation.
Description: Geomicrobiology is the study of the interactions between microorganisms and minerals. This course will explore the geological change mediated by microorganisms, microbial evolution driven by geologically diverse habitats, and applications of geomicrobiology, including understanding the evolution of life on earth, the study of life in extreme environments, and industrial application of geomicrobiology.  The course includes classroom discussion, laboratories, and field trips.
This course consists of 2 hours of lecture and 1 two-hour laboratory. 
Pre-requisite(s): CHEM 1210 /CHEM 1215   or approval of the instructor.
