SOC 2600 - Families in Society Credits: (3) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: The course analyzes family arrangements and structures, changes in such arrangements over time, and contemporary issues facing families. Emphasis is placed on variations in family experiences with regard to race, gender, social class, and sexual orientation. Students examine the relationship between families and other social institutions such as politics, religion, and the economy.
