Description: This course explores the diverse places and people of the United States and Canada, with a focus on rapid change and sustainability.  Students gain a firm grounding in a range of interconnected economic, social and environmental issues.  Topics include warming climates, polarized politics, diversifying populations, growing economic inequality, all-consuming technology, natural disasters, social justice, immigration, and many more.  When you finish this course, you will better understand the geography of such transformative change in the context of this multifaceted region.
