SOC 1020 SS/CC - Contemporary Social Issues Credits: (3) Typically Taught Summer Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: A study of major social problems in contemporary society, including issues of age, gender, family, race, ethnicity, wealth and poverty, politics, education, public safety, health care, substance abuse, and environment. Special emphasis is given to issues of power and policy and their consequences for society.
