CHEM 6310 - Regulatory Agency Compliance Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem-Online Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem-Online Description: This course provides an overview of key regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to industrial chemists working in fields such as nutritional supplements, medical supplies, defense manufacturing, state laboratories, and small molecule synthesis. Students will explore regulations enforced by agencies including the FDA, EPA, OSHA, and DOT, as well as international standards like ITAR/EAR and GHS. Emphasis is placed on understanding the practical application of compliance in areas such as good manufacturing practices, hazardous materials handling, chemical labeling, and safety protocols. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the tools to navigate regulatory challenges, ensure workplace compliance, and prepare for industry audits.
