Field Botany Certificate of Proficiency

The Certificate of Proficiency in Field Botany provides 24 semester credit hours in botany, the minimal botany course work needed for federal job code 0430, botanist. This certificate can be earned as a stand alone certificate, as a +1 with the Biology AS, or while working on a Botany BS. An additional 5 credit hours in botany and an appropriate mathematics course are required beyond the requirements for the botany minor.
- Program Prerequisite: Not required.
- Grade Requirements: Students completing a certificate in Field Botany must have a minimum grade of “C” in all courses used toward the certificate (a grade of “C-” is not acceptable).
- Credit Hour Requirements: A minimum of 27-28 credit hours is required for the certificate.
