Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Leadership Emphasis


The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)-Leadership program concentration prepares post-masters nurses for high-level leadership positions in healthcare systems. Nurses applying for the program must possess a BSN with a master’s in nursing (MSN), or a master’s in business (MBA), or master’s in health administration (MHA), or a master’s in public health (MPH). The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)-Leadership program is 100% online and part-time requiring 30 credit hours to be completed in five part-time academic semesters with an optional 6th-semester extension available for completion of a student project and practicum hours. Didactic course-work is online, with required practicum hours completed in a variety of courses, community, and healthcare settings. Students must complete 500 DNP practice hours and a DNP project during their program of study.

Grade Requirements: To earn the DNP degree, candidates must successfully complete all DNP program courses with a grade of “B-” or higher and maintain an overall program GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Admission

Admission is competitive; therefore, the criteria listed on the application form should be considered as minimum standards.

Applicants must apply for admission to the DNP-Leadership program. Applications may be obtained online on the Annie Taylor Dee School of Nursing website http://weber.edu/nursinsg.

Applications must be completed and on file by the admission cycle application deadline. An application fee must be paid at the time the application is submitted. Admission applications are reviewed by the Annie Taylor Dee School of Nursing Program Admissions and Advancement Committee.
