Biological Science Teaching Minor

The Biological Science Teaching Minor leads to a Biology I endorsement in Utah public schools when combined with another secondary (grades 7-12) teaching major or equivalent coursework.
- Program Prerequisite: Must combine with a teaching major and meet the Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Department of Teacher Education) to complete a secondary teaching license.
- Grade Requirements: A grade of “C” or better in courses required for this major (a grade of “C-” is not acceptable).
- Credit Hour Requirements: When accompanying a Science Teaching Major (BS), a minimum of 22 credits are required.

Admission Requirements
Students must be admitted to the Teacher Education program and complete a teaching major to earn teaching credentials.

In order to meet state licensure requirements upon graduation, students must combine this minor with another teaching major and must satisfy Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Secondary Teacher Education Licensure) including support courses, Secondary Teacher Education Core, and Secondary Teacher Education Student Teaching. |
