- Program Requirements: This program provides an accelerated pathway for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering (BSBME) to complete the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) by sharing up to 12 credit hours of 5000- or 6000-level electives between the BSBME and MSEE degrees. To receive both the BSBME and MSEE Students must:
- Complete 90 credit hours of coursework with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be admitted to the BSBME Professional Program
- While not required, students are encouraged to pursue the Traditional Track to facilitate a timely graduation with both degrees.
- Apply to the Accelerated Program, which grants conditional admission into the MSEE.
- Complete all requirements for the BSBME with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Complete up to 12 credit hours of 5000- or 6000-level electives with a B- or higher in each shared course.
- Formally apply to the MSEE following the requirements on that programs catalog page.

- Grade Requirements:
- Undergraduate: A grade of “C” or better in all BME and support courses is required for this major (a grade of “C-” is not acceptable). Students must have an overall GPA of 2.8 or higher to graduate.
- Graduate: MSEE students must complete all program courses, including electives, with a grade of “B-” or higher. In addition, the overall program GPA must be 3.0 or higher.
- Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 138 credit hours is required for graduation with both degrees. The BSBME requires 120 credit hours and the MSEE requires 30 credit hours. A maximum of 12 credit hours of 5000- or 6000-level coursework can be shared.

MSEE Admissions Requirements
Applicants for admission into the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program must possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the final stage of completing the degree. An overall GPA of 3.0 is required from the undergraduate program in which the bachelor’s degree is earned.
Applicants will submit:
- Completed application
- Current resume
- Official transcripts from every institution of higher education attended
- GRE scores are required for all applicants except those with an ABET-accredited engineering bachelor’s degree or a 3.2 GPA or higher in a prior STEM degree. Scores will be used to make admission decisions but no specific minimum score is required.
Additional Admission Requirements for International Students
All international students and any applicant educated outside the U.S. must demonstrate proficiency in English. Those whose native language is not English, or whose language of instruction for their undergraduate degree was not English, will be required to submit an official score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International Language Testing System (IELTS) which is not more than two years old. Applicants are required to have an internet-based TOEFL score of 79 (with a minimum of 17 in each category) or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.

Electrical Engineering BSBME/MSEE Accelerated Program Elective Courses (maximum of 12 credit hours)
Any courses listed in the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering AND the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering Programs’ elective pages that are 5000-level and are completed with a B- or better is eligible for credit sharing. Students may not take a 6000-level course for the MSEE if a 5000-level course with the same name has already been completed.
Accelerated Program students may also enroll in 6000-level elective courses listed in the MSEE catalog and have those courses fulfill the BSEE elective requirements. A total of 12 credits can be shared between the BSBME and MSEE, regardless of level.
