Design Engineering Technology Departmental Honors

Please contact the Engineering Technology Department for advisement and permission prior to enrolling in Honors courses.

To earn Departmental Honors in Design Engineering Technology, a student must:

Complete all the BS requirements as an Design Engineering Technology major
Earn Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or be a member of the Tau Alpha Phi Honors Society
Earn an “A” in the DET 4600 - Senior Project (2) and DET 4610 - Senior Project (2)
Either:

	Present a scholarly paper at a local, regional or national conference; Consider NCUR as an appropriate venue;
	Or
	Demonstrate excellence in community service by completing 300 documented hours in major-related service;
	Or
	Complete a senior project that serves the community, and earns regional or national recognition;
	Or
	Hold a leadership position in a professional organization related to the major.

Students who have not completed their General Education requirements are encouraged to take Honors General Education classes.
