The awarding of the Entrepreneurship Institutional Certificate has been replaced by the Entrepreneurship minor. Please see the Entrepreneurship Minor section for more information.
A student may apply for a certificate in Entrepreneurship provided he or she has met all of the following requirements:
- Concurrent or previous completion of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics or any other AACSB accredited business school.
- Completion of a specified program of at least 12 semester hours of upper division business course work, as approved by the entrepreneurship area faculty. Course work shall include BSAD 4500 - Entrepreneurship and at least 9 additional credit hours selected to satisfy the experiential requirement listed below and to support the specific field in which the student plans to pursue an entrepreneurial career. The GPA for this course work must be at least 2.50.
- Completion of an experiential learning component relating to an entrepreneurial venture.
This requirement can be satisfied through any of the following:
- completion of BSAD 4680 - Small Business Diagnostics ;
- completion of an approved business internship;
- completion of a class project on behalf of an entrepreneurial client.
- Presentation and defense of a comprehensive business plan for an entrepreneurial venture. This presentation will be made before a panel of faculty from the Goddard School and representatives from the business community.
