Visual art from the first artistic expressions on rocks to the art of emerging civilizations (such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India, and Africa), and the monuments and small-scale artifacts of the Medieval Ages will be analyzed in its historical, social, political, and broader cultural contexts.
