Course Fee Purpose: Course fees are established in order to benefit the students in this course and may, among other things, be used to cover the costs of equipment replacement and maintenance, consumable materials, licensure examinations, or to meet specific regulatory requirements. Examples of course fee expenditures for this specific course include fees for expendable supplies such as assessment forms, splinting and orthotic supplies, and cleaning and organization tools for clinic spaces.
Description: This is a dynamic, hands-on course to provide an immersive experience in pediatric occupational therapy.  With a focus on assessment and intervention strategies essential for working with children and adolescents of varying ages and abilities. Students will engage in practical applications of handling and positioning, oral motor and feeding interventions, assistive devices and equipment, pediatric assessment administration, pediatric treatment techniques, community resources, and developing creative intervention strategies for a wide range of ages, conditions and abilities.  Students will participate in a community-based occupational therapy clinic as part of this course.
