Description: Students will engage in a full-time (40-hours a week), eight-week clinical fieldwork experience in an occupational therapy practice setting, coordinated by OTA faculty and supervised by a course instructor. This immersive fieldwork allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world practice, focusing on the skills necessary for entry-level performance as an occupational therapy assistant. Through direct client interactions, students will gain hands-on experience with contributing to assessments, interventions, documentation, and communication in a professional setting. This course emphasizes developing clinical reasoning, ethical decision-making, and competence in delivering client-centered care, preparing students for transition into professional roles.
