Geography is the study of the spatial organization, arrangement, function, movement, and interrelationships of phenomena on the surface of the earth. It is a science concerned with both physical and cultural phenomena and interfaces with other disciplines in the natural sciences, social & behavioral sciences, business, and economics.

Interdisciplinary Minors
The Geography Department participates in the Asian Studies, Environmental Studies, Ethnic Studies, European Studies and Latin American Studies Minor Programs and the Urban and Regional Planning Emphasis Program. Students who wish to enroll in one of these programs should indicate their desire to do so with the program coordinator who will help them work out a proper combination of courses to fit their particular needs.
