Theatre Arts Teaching Minor

Students who select the Theatre Arts Teaching Minor must satisfy the Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Department of Teacher Education  in this catalog).

 

Program Learning Outcomes:

Scholarship
Students will analyze and articulate the social, historical, and cultural context of theatrical methods and technologies through research, writing, and discussion, connecting past and present influences on contemporary performance.

Professionalism
Students will demonstrate practical knowledge of production, including individual and collaborative skills essential to staging a theatrical event. They will integrate design, performance, and technical elements, and do so with responsibility, integrity, and accountability.

Artistry
Students will develop and apply skills in creating, analyzing, and evaluating theatrical works, while demonstrating proficiency in at least one specialization within theatre (design, directing, dramaturgy, management, performance, playwriting, teaching, criticism or technology).
