  • Grade Requirements: The student must earn a grade of C or better
  • Credit Hour Requirements: 21 (6 classes plus 3 hour internship for the OEHS minor).
  • Program Code: 1017
  • CIPC: 150701

The minor in OEHS is earned by taking 7 courses, 3 semester hours each for total of 21 hours. There are 6 didactic courses in addition to a practical internship in occupational health and safety. The courses are held at the University of Utah (UU), taught by instructors at the UU. Students will enroll at WSU and pay WSU tuition, with no requirement to be admitted to the University of Utah. Students from both institutions will attend. Courses are taught in blocks in evenings to accomodate student schedules and to make travel more efficient. Distance based attendance is possible for much of the program.

Students that complete the 6 didactic classes and internship will earn the minor in OEHS. This program is exactly the same coureses and requirements for a minor in OEHS at the University of Utah. However, WSU students can complete another 6 didactic courses that are proposed separately for Fall 2024 start date to complete the BIS with OEHS emphasis. There is no equivalent pathway at the University of Utah, Utah State University or other public institution in Utah.
