Advisement
Students should be advised that this certificate acknowledges that the coursework needed for the Utah State Board of Education Secondary Mathematics Teaching Endorsement has been satisfied. Until the student also satisfies the requirements for a teaching licensure through the Weber State University College of Education or through a local educational agency (LEA), the student cannot apply for this endorsement from the state.
Admission Requirements
To receive the certificate, the student must be a major in the Department of Mathematics or the Department of Physics. However, for students interested in completing this set of courses outside of those majors, the student may still declare intentions to pursue this certificate so that the required courses populate on CatTracks.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students completing this set of courses will have satisfied the coursework requirements by the state of Utah to earn the Secondary Mathematics Teaching endorsement. These students will have acquired the mathematical content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge needed to teach Grades 7-12 mathematics.
