MSE 3910 - Six Sigma Methods and Tools in Manufacturing Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Six Sigma methods use statistical tools to bring about continual improvement of quality in manufactured goods and services and to document that positive change has occurred. These tools include Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (gage R&R), Control Charts, Process Capability Analysis, and Design of Experiments. Students will learn and apply these methods and tools through class participation and completion of required projects. Course will utilize Minitab and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software. Pre-requisite(s): MSE 3850 or MFET 3810.
