LING 4830 - Directed Readings in Linguistics Credits: (1-3) Description: Directed readings may be undertaken in the general area of linguistics, whether theoretical or applied. Specific topics are to be selected in consultation with the instructor and the linguistics minor program coordinator. The amount of material to be read, and any written assignments based on the reading, will be at the discretion of the instructor; it will be based on the level of the topic and the degree of difficulty of the reading, consistent with existing departmental or university guidelines. Pre-requisite(s): ENGL 3010 Introduction to Linguistics is a prerequisite for this course. The prerequisite may be waived or replaced by an equivalent at the discretion of the instructor in consultation with the linguistics minor program coordinator. May be repeated twice with a maximum of 3 credit hours. Note: This course is offered as needed.
