HIST 3130 - U.S. Urban History Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem even years Description: Examines themes in social, economic and cultural development of American cities from the colonial era to the present. Key topics will include the process of urbanization and the ways in which various social groups and classes adapt to urban life and society. The course will also examine the transformation of urban neighborhoods and ghettos, social reform movements in the city, and the history of urban planning.
