HIST 3400 - Principles of Public History Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Description: This course will consider the theoretical background of public history and its disciplines: historic preservation, museum studies, archives and records administration, and documentary editing. Students will survey, research, and analyze the ways in which history is conveyed to a broad public through museums, monuments, sites, films, and other media outside the classroom or scholarly writings. Note: (Replaces HIST 2500.)
