MHA 6200 - Population Health and Data Analytics Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: 2nd Blk, 2nd Blk Online Description: The course addresses the integration of population health into strategic planning and managerial decision-making in health services organizations. Epidemiological principles, social determinates of health, and the improvement of health of the entire population from clinical and managerial perspectives are addressed. This course teaches the necessary fundamentals of data analytics and engages students in the process of analyzing data related to population health topics. Course work includes environmental analysis of community health, and health behaviors and lifestyle that impact demand on health care delivery systems. The student will evaluate models for integration of health services, preventive programs, demand management, and policy issues affecting continuity of care. Pre-requisite(s): MHA 6000 (may be taken concurrently)or Instructor Approval.
