Description: A survey of the clinical, research, and administrative applications of computers in the health care industry from which health care information is currently derived. The role of this technology and of the data collected in accomplishing the objectives and procedures of the principle functional areas in health care organizations is emphasized as are the interrelationships of the organizational units with respect to data acquisition, storage, analysis, retrieval, and use.
