MSE 4700 - Manufacturing Systems Engineering II Credits: (3) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Course Fee: $25.00 Course Fee Purpose: Course consumables(controllers, robotics, etc.), software licensing, lab computers and support. Description: This course covers the following topics: models of manufacturing systems, including transfer lines and flexible manufacturing systems; calculation of performance measures, including throughput, in-process inventory, and meeting production commitments; real-time control of scheduling; effects of machine failure, set-ups, and other disruptions on system performance. Also A study of the elements used in the automation of manufacturing processes including: programmable logic controllers, robotics (servo and non-servo), vision systems, and material handling devices. Pre-requisite(s): MSE 3040 , MSE 3700 .
