HIST 1600 AI/CC - The Black Experience Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: HIST 1600 is the History of Black people in the United States. We will begin by tracing the origins of Blacks and Black Americans in the New World from their origins in Africa. We will then explore the history of Black people in the United States from the Atlantic Creoles to the present day. This course will also fulfill all the requirements for American Institutions (AI) credit.
