FILM 3900 - Sundance Film Festival Experience Credits: (1-3) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: This course is a hybrid intense first-hand experience of the world of independent filmmaking through the Sundance Film Festival. The Sundance Film Festival has launched the careers of many contemporary auteurs, including the Coen Brothers, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Lynn Ramsey, Quentin Tarantino, and Steven Soderbergh. This course provides the opportunity for film students to hone their own creative and critical visions by viewing and discussing a wide variety of world premiere films, as well as by attending talks by filmmakers, business people, scholars, and critics in the vibrant environment of Sundance.
