NRSG 7905 - FNP Clinical IV Credits: (3) Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Description: This course is designed to prepare the nurse practitioner student to deliver high-quality primary care to patients of all ages, under the direction of a clinical preceptor. Students will enter the clinical setting and apply evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning principles to both diagnose and treatment of patients across the lifespan. This course will also improve the student’s ability to collect patient histories, perform physical examinations, order and analyze diagnostic tests, determine differential diagnoses, plan intervention, prescribe medication, and document patient encounters. Emphasis is placed on the student learning to apply health promotion principles in order to prevent disease and manage individualized patient healthcare outcomes.
