Basic Economic Analysis Certificate of Proficiency

• Program pre-requisite: MATH 1050 , MATH 1080 , MATH 1090 , or MATH 1210  with a “C” or higher grade.

Students earning an Economics Analysis Certificate will understand the basic analytical and empirical tools that analysts apply to economic problems. Students will learn how to analyze the choices of firms and consumers in principles microeconomics, will learn how to interpret economy-wide trends in principles of macroeconomics, and will learn to analyze the theoretical economics predictions using data in the statistics classes. For the final class, students will choose an upper division economic course to advance their knowledge further.

The Economics Analysis Certificate is stackable with other credentials that can be earned in the Goddard School of Business & Economics. The certificate earns students credit toward the business core and business fundamentals required for most degrees in the Goddard School of Business & Economics. It also stacks to an Economics Minor. Students will earn 3 SS general education credits in the program, and can also earn 3 AI general education credits if they take ECON 1740 .

All courses that make up the Economics Analysis Certificate are offered in Fall and Spring every year. Most of the courses are also offered during the Summer semester. Most course are also offered both face-to-face and virtually on a regular basis.
