Environmental Science Filmmaking Certificate of Proficiency

The 18-credit hour certificate in Environmental Science Filmmaking provides opportunities for students interested in combining their love of science with a love of storytelling. Students will receive a background in science and in filmmaking that enables them to produce their own films.
- Program Prerequisite: None required. However, some of the individual course options have a prerequisite or corequisite, as shown below.
- Grade Requirements: A grade of 2.0 or better in all courses used toward the certificate.

Learning Outcomes
- Introduce students to environmental issues from the perspective of science and introduce research principles.
- Introduce students to the principles and practices of environmental filmmaking.
- Produce students who can make films about environmental issues as told from the perspective of science.
- Produce students with marketable skills sought by employers.

Students must take a minimum of 3 classes and a minimum of 9 credits. Courses taken for major and minor programs of study may also count toward the certificate.
